Disinfectant from DPL Used to Fight COVID-19
In March, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order to effectively close any non-essential organizations in the state and to cease doing business unless it could be done so from home. At that time, Dr. Paul Lohmann® was identified as one of those operations of utmost importance, manufacturing components necessary for the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Working in a critical infrastructure industry as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, DPL has a special responsibility to maintain its normal work schedule and has continued essential operations in the US during the COVID-19 crisis. Although many DPL employees can work from home and have been asked to do so, certain positions cannot be performed from a remote location and are necessary for DPL to fulfill its responsibilities. These positions include workers in research labs, production facilities, and other functions that require physical presence.
DPL is an essential manufacturing source for processing aids used in COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. The production of disinfectants is not a core business of DPL, but their expertise, coupled with the necessary raw materials and technical requirements, made them the perfect partner for Sana Hospitals in Germany during their urgent search for disinfectants to battle COVID-19.
It goes without saying that these are extraordinary times and DPL is proud to have supported Sana Hospitals nationally, supplying over 7,100 gallons of disinfectant which fully supplied 55 hospitals for over two months.”
